Hi guys,
This is a project I have been waiting to be able to tackle for ever.
I have always wanted to sculpt Superman and the main characters from the Justice league since the days of Super Friends ( Batman, Wonderwoman, Green Lantern,Aquaman, Martian man Hunter, Captain Marvel, Cyborg, Firestorm, and Flash) and their evil counter parts ( Luthor in armored suit , Black Adam, Brainiac, Metallo, Darkseid, Bizarro, Cheetah ) in a way their expressions and body language really show how magnificent these guy are.
First off is off course Superman.
For inspiration I used a bit of Jim Lee, Alex Ross, a hint of Clint Eastwood, and off course a bit of Christopher Reeve.
I think I will make a series of busts, and full size 1/4 statues, I am getting rid of a lot of older stuff from my studio, and I really want to populate it with newer works as the years go by, as for Capes I may use real fabric, as I don't have much time to do my own stuff, that seems like a great solution, plus I hate sculpting capes... anyway, little by little I will keep updating you all.

This is a piece I just finished last week, this was done for Yamato, it is loosely based on a paint by the master Boris Vallejo titled "Discovery"
The face was a bit of a nightmare as Yamato USA wanted something that looked very close to the source art, but Yamato Japan wanted something more like a hybrid between anime, and one of those Final fantasy females, so I had to please both, maker her less defined, different face....and in the end, even when we got approvals from japan's development team, it seems they are second guessing how fat she is... mainly her bottom

Hi all,
This is something that has been sitting in my studio for a while, since my schedule is allowing for a couple of hours of fun... well... I started all over...
This is just a very basic shape, I will transfer to wax. The idea is to give him a very organic looking armor/wings .... I promise to keep everyone updated throughout the process... hopefully this can help some of our new members :) if there is enough interest I may get it casted as well, and sell a few copies.

I know he still looks real bad, but once I take him to wax I will tweak him.
BTW if completed this will be true 1/6th, maybe 12 inches or so... it is based on the art from the intro which clearly had better quality than the actual cartoon... it is a bit more anime-ish...

Erick, always good to hear from you man.
After some constructive direction from our own Alfred Paredes, I've decided to rework the burned side of his face, along with a few features on the Harvey side. I see now that in my crazy texturing of the burns I lost some of the skeletal structure and that the burned side became too thick. Can't thank Alfred enough for helping out on this.
I am pretty far along in my redo now, so I'll post updates soon. it looks much better.
